"DEAD ON MY FEET-A GRAVE SITUATION"

A beautiful day it was last week, I decided to take my mother to see the grave of her late parents and grandparents, plus other family members in both upper and lower Wortley cemetery. The one on Oldfied Lane was the most pleasant, but my poor mother who is not good on her feet could not sit down. The other (lower Wortley) where her parents were buried,once again had no bench, nor could we find the grave as many of the stones, especially the smaller ones had upturned face down, mainly those at the top of the cemetery. Upper Wortley has a beautiful stone house on the left which is boarded up. Obviously, the councils way of saving money. Lower Wortley used to have a little lodge which has been demolished. In actual fact I am disgusted that in this sophisticated age of 2011 these cemeteries have no-one to ask in order to gain information about the grave, nowhere to sit and worst of all nobody to watch out for vandalism....PROGRESS....EH...
