A review of Skin Therapy by Very poor experience written on Monday 30th of September 2013
Bought a Groupon deal for this place after looking at the website & thinking it should be good due to it's location, however my experience was very poor, shown to a room curtained off into approx 5 treatment areas just big enough for a bed & table (not the individual room shown on the website so pointless for a relaxing treatment such as a massage when you can hear everyone chatting), booked in for a pedicure & back massage. very poor lighting & she was just going to apply one coat of varnish, I had to ask for 2 as it was transparent & there was no cleaning of excess varnish off after. I expressed concern that I had closed toe shoes on & would it be better to have a manicure, was advised it would be dry & no problem but by the time I got to the train station it was ruined.
My back "massage" was terrible, it should have been 30 mins but she just moved her hands around for about 15/20 mins with no technique at all. Both treatments should have lasted a combined 50 mins but it started late & finished early so would say probably lasted 35 to 40 mins. It was carried out by what must have been a trainee, I didn't feel I could complain as felt slightly intimidated, did phone them on the way home to speak to the manager but no answer (always had trouble getting through as no-one seems to answer the phones). I didn't get a good feeling when I first walked in, there wasn't a warm atmosphere, no drink was offered etc or anything explained considering it was my first visit. All in all a very disappointing experience, the worst I have ever had to be honest & I am in the process of complaining to Groupon. I have read reviews since & no-one has anything good to say about this place which is a shame as it could be good. .
