"Intimidating an autistic person"

A review of Merrion Centre Security Office by Sharon written on Wednesday 20th of March 2024

Hi, I need to make a complaint about a security guard in

the Merrion Centre?

He was intimidating my son who has autism and bad ocd,

he walked past him 3 times way too close, he was cm's

away from him. There's no excuse for this behaviour as

the path is very wide. I was only gone 2 minuites, Icalled

into Herron and watched him do it from the counter.

When I came out he walked around the corner, then he

kept coming around to watch him. What is this guys

problem, this happened on Saturday 9th March at about

15.00pm roughly

My son was really distressed about it, he couldn't get why

the security guard had done this becuase he hadn't done

anything wrong, all he was doing was looking at his

phone and minding his own business waiting for me to

come back.

I sent this message to the online Merrion Centre complaints department, but haven't heard anything. They said they would reply in roughly 24 hrs. It's been over a week and still no reply. Shouldn't be intimidating vulnerable people with disabilities..
