During a recent visit to the soft drinks site i witnessed something that i have only seen on a visit to Japan. Britvic have taken on board the 5S system of manufacturing which stems from originally Japanese words. Sort, Straighten, Shine, Systemise and Sustain. Which basically creates a waste free environment with tools and equipment being easily accessable, The manufacturing manager, Jason Barkman has likened the ease of locating tools to a pitstop mentality where everything can be located within 20 seconds..
