"Not at ease"

A review of Beckett Street Cemetery by Mr G Pickles written on Sunday 28th of December 2008

I have visited the cemetery 5 or 6 times. I have never had any trouble but on 2 occasions there was a group of about 8 people (men & women) sat on one of the forms drinking. As I walked past they smiled and bid me good morning, no problems but I was uncomfortable. On another occasion there was a dog which came up to me, once again uncomfortable. I will not visit the cemetery alone again, I think it is advisable to be in a group.

It is a marvelous place for people who are researching their family tree, I have found a family 2 family graves (Pickles) with 4 generations. The cemetery is a treasure for the people of Leeds and should be properly maintained including the safety of visitors. .
